Plus500 Plans US Trading ‘Super-App’ After Agreeing to Acquire Hedge

Plus500 has conditionally agreed to buy Hedge Capital Markets, supporting plans to launch a US ‘super app’ combining stocks, options, ETFs, futures, and prediction markets.

In a regulatory announment released on 13 October 2026, Plus500 said the proposed acquisition would expand its US operations into SEC-regulated securities. The company plans to launch the app in the first quarter of 2027.

Hedge was founded in 2021 and includes an SEC-registered broker dealer and FINRA member. Its securities business would compliment Plus500’s existing CFTC-regulated futures trading and predicton markets operations.

The commercial opportunity is to capture more of each customer’s trading activity. A platform spanning equities and derivatives could appeal to customers who currently have to switch between different platforms. I reviewed Plus500 US earlier this year and was impressed at the way clients can easily access futures trading and prediction markets within the same platform, with a single login.

Plus500 said it has established a New York hub to work alongside its Chicago operations. Hedge employees would add securities expertise to support the expansion.

The transaction would be funded entirely from existing cash resources, which exceeded $860 million at the end of June 2026. The announcement did not disclose a purchase price. Completion remains subject to customary conditions, including FINRA approval and the expiry of the required notice period.
