Soybean Futures

Soybeans have been cultivated for over 3,000 years in China and are the most widely grown and utilized legume in the world. Soybean futures are traded at the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT). Most soybeans are used for the extraction of soybean oil, used for cooking purposes – or to make soybean meal, which is used as a feed by farmers. Soybeans are also consumed in the form of Tofu or simply on their own as in the case of Japanese Edamame.
