Voters in six states decided Tuesday that it's time for workers to get sharply higher minimum wages as initiatives on the ballot in Ohio, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, Arizona and Colorado passed handily, according to early projections.
The six states where the minimum-wage increase was approved join more than 20 states, plus the District of Columbia, that had already set higher rates through legislation.
Among the goals Democrats have set for their first 100 hours in control is to raise the minimum wage to $7.25.
