Oct. 9 (Bloomberg) -- Jeremy Podger plans to weather a U.S. economic slump by focusing his $1.3 billion Threadneedle Global Select Fund on Europe and Japan.

``There will be a modest slowing in the U.S., not an outright recession, and specifically a slowdown in home building, which isn't a part of the U.S. economy strongly connected to economies around the world,'' said Podger, based in London. ``This should allow markets outside the U.S. to continue the revaluation that started three years ago.''
