Hello all. Im new to the forum's and I have a few questions about stocks hopefully someone here can answer for me. First off a little back ground; My grandmother bought stocks for me when I was a child from a company named FPL. The time has come now that I could use that money to help with my college education and I would like to sell the stock.

Looking back at the file my parents have kept; the stock seems to have dipped quite a bit from mid 05. With this particular company is there any reason I should hold onto this stock a little longer? I currently have 80. something shares in the company. (if that matters)

What actions need to be taken to sell my stock in FPL? And is it a god idea? Thanks for helping a newbie!

:p If you have a look at the charts the down trend reversed end of March 06 & has now broken through its 50 day moving average .. heading for the sky. Is that a reason to hold onto it? http://moneycentral.msn.com/investor/charts/chartdl.asp?FC=3&Symbol=FPL&CE=1&CP=0&PT=5&D5=0
In making a decision about education funding - compare the cost of borrowing education costs against the returns you might make on the stock. But rather than adopt the anachronistic buy hold approach - why not be an active trader and set some stops in case it reverses??:D

lol, well. How exactly would someone new in the stock market preform the above actions? I see the stock rising but Im worried about seeing it sink again. Could you possibly toss some more information my way? Thanks! :)

Any idea of what to expect from this merger?

"FPL Group, Inc. (NYSE: FPL) and Constellation Energy (NYSE: CEG), two of the strongest, fastest-growing and most successful energy companies in America, today announced that they have signed a definitive agreement to create the nation’s largest competitive energy supplier and its second-largest electric utility." http://www.newenergyleader.com/
