Stephen Feinberg graduated from Princeton University with a degree in politics. He started his career as a trader at Drexel Burnham.
Stephen Feinberg co-founded Cerberus Capital in 1992 with William L. Richter with $12 million. One of the largest players in private equity, Cerebus has focused on companies which are near bankruptcy.
The secretive Feinberg named his firm after the three-headed dog that guarded the gates of Hades in Greek mythology.
