Energy Futures are traded at the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX). They include futures and option contracts for crude oil, natural gas, heating oil, gasoline, coal, electricity and propane. While these commodities are traded on the floor of the NYMEX exchange via the open outcry system, NYMEX also offers e-mini contracts for oil and natural gas which are traded on the Globex system of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME).
