William ‘Bill’ Ackman graduated from Harvard University in 1988 and received his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1992.

Ackman co-founded Gotham Partners in 1992 with David Berkowitz. He went on to founded Pershing Square in 2003. Pershing Square is an activist hedge fund and posted a 22% gain for 2007.

Ackman’s father is the chairman of Ackman Brothers & Singer, a commercial real estate mortgage brokerage in New York.
